When purchasing a theme from ThemeForest, you have two licensing options: Regular License and Extended License. If your end product, including the item, will be free to the end user, then a Regular License is what you need. An Extended License is required if the end user must pay to use the end product.
The billing, licensing terms, and process are handled by Envato, and we have no control over these aspects. Click here to learn more about what each license is for and which one to purchase.
Note:
One license is valid for one domain only. If you want to use the theme on another domain, then you have to purchase another license.
Common questions
License usage
- Can I use the theme on more than one website?
No. Each license is valid for one website only. To use the theme on a second site, you’ll need to purchase an additional license.
- Can I use one license for a subdomain?
Only if the subdomain is part of the same website or project. If the content or purpose of the subdomain is different, a separate license is required.
- How many licenses do I need for a WordPress multisite?
You need one license per top-level domain, even if you’re using a multisite setup.
- Can I use an Extended License for multiple projects or clients?
No. The Extended License is still limited to a single end product. See Extended License terms for details.
Testing & development
- Can I set up a staging or development site with my license?
Yes. Each license allows one live site and one staging site. To activate your license on a staging site, open a support ticket.
License management & purchases
- How do I manage or track my licenses?
Log in to your account at my.keydesign.xyz to view your registered licenses. Only top-level domains are shown.
- How do I unregister a license from a site I no longer control?
Log into my.keydesign.xyz and unregister the license. If the domain isn’t listed, open a support ticket.
- Can I get a discount for bulk purchases?
Unfortunately, Envato doesn’t allow us to offer bulk or custom discounts.
License issues
- My license was locked. What does that mean?
A license can be locked if it’s used on multiple live websites, which violates Envato’s terms. Locked licenses won’t receive updates or allow registration on new domains. To unlock your license, open a support ticket.
